Laura Wachter grew up in Munich and started classical singing at the age of 14. Later she discovered, that jazz, pop & soul music were more her cup of tea, so she started to sing in the school band and choir. In 1994 Laura moved to Graz/Austria to study jazz singing at the jazz department of the “Hochschule für Musik und darstellende Kunst”. With her teachers being jazz heroes like Mark Murphy, Sheila Jordan or Jay Clayton, she felt really lucky in Graz. Back in Munich with a jazz dipolma in her pocket, she started to work at the Bavarian radio station “Bayern 3″ as a music journalist, while always pursuing her musical career. Right now she plays live either with her Vocal Jazz band “McSingers” or as a duo with guitarist Christoph Müller.
